Slowly hear milk on low heat. Dissolve sugar in warm milk. Add rice and vanilla extract. Cook on low heat until rice is tender, stirring frequently. Remove 1 cup of the mixture and wish in egg. Replace egg/rice mixture into rice and stir well. Cook on low heat until thick. Transfer to bowl and cool.
